Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris (Carlos Ray Norris Jr.) was born March 10, 1940 in the small town of Ryan, Oklahoma.  He grew up in poverty, especially when two more brothers were born.  The family moved from place to place in search of work, at one time even lived in a caravan, because there was nothing to pay for the best conditions.  His father drank professionally, his mother was a housewife, so the son took care of himself.  Norris's father is a car mechanic known for his addiction to alcohol.  Grandfather Chuck was a thoroughbred Irish, and his mother came from the Cherokee Indians.  The most memorable childhood experiences for the boy were - need, lack of permanent residence, drowning life in a trailer with his mother and two younger brothers, and then the divorce of parents and the new head of the family.  Norris recalls that it was Stephen George Knight who instilled in him an irresistible and passionate love for the sport.  After school, Chuck moonlighted as a loader, so he never dreamed of doing sports.  At 16, with honestly earned money, I bought the first car - a piece of iron worn to the limit.  He dreamed of becoming a policeman.  To realize this dream, he immediately enlisted in the Air Force and in 1959 was sent to South Korea.  It was at a military base that he was called Chuck.  By then, he was already married to his classmate Diana Holechek.  The service, he said, was incredibly boring, which is why he went in for sports, namely: enrolled in a judo club, but, having no sports training, broke his arm at one of the first training sessions and, having been released from service, spent days  wandered aimlessly around the town in which the unit was stationed.  And by chance I saw people in white practicing punches and kicks on a dirt site.  As it turned out later, fate brought him to classes in the school of tangsudo - Korean martial art.  No foreigners were admitted to it, but on the recommendation of a judoka coach, Norris made an exception.  The trainings were held every day for three hours, no one was busy with the American on purpose, they did not indulge him, and he did the same as the others, although most of the students wore black workshop belts.  Carlos, who became Chuck in the army, admitted that at first he did not sleep at night - his whole body ached from pain.  But the school went through such that three years later, by the time he left the army, he already had a black belt.

In 1963, Chuck Norris opened the first karate school, a year later - the second, and in 1965 he went to the Los Angeles All-Star Championship and became the winner.  In 1968, it opened a network of karate schools (there were 32 in total).  In the same year, he became the world lightweight karate champion and retained this title for seven years.

Chuck began his career in the world of cinema with the help of the famous, in the future, actor Steve McQueen, who, at the time, Norris gave karate lessons in his own school.  He brought Norris to the set.  When shooting a picture for the small role of a silent bodyguard, who according to the script pronounces only one phrase.  The debut was not very successful - Norris arrived on the set right after the final fight for the world title with a black eye and a broken jaw, and correctly pronounced the only phrase with a hundredth attempt.  But then in the second film - “The Way of the Dragon” - he worked out wonderfully, playing the memorable role of an assassin dying at the hands of a hero played by Bruce Lee.  Acting in a movie Norris liked.  But after a spectacular debut, he received only one offer from the world of cinema - to play in the second-class Hong Kong action movie "The San Francisco Massacre."  Norris again got the role of a bad person, and the film itself was so unsuccessful that it was not released on screens until 1981.  After talking with professional actors, Chuck realized how difficult acting is;  I saw that acting is not just a show of tricks, blows in front of the camera, which is much more complicated.  Now he decided to study “as an actor” from real professionals.  Estella Harmon became his teacher in the acting class.  The 34-year-old karate was the oldest student.  The period of study taught him a lot: he became much more relaxed in front of the camera, learned the correct diction.  In 1977, he returned to the cinema, played a role in the action movie “Challenge!  (Breaker! Breaker!) ”And soon became a movie star at Cannon Pictures.  In the early 1990s, this company went bankrupt, but Chuck continued to act in film.

In 1993, CBS invited him to play the role of the Texas Ranger Walker, and the actor agreed.  He also starred in the films Code of Silence, Invasion of the United States, and Missing Persons.

After 30 years of living together with Diana, Norris divorces and then marries Monica Hall - a girl of 25 years old, she lives in Los Angeles, is engaged in interior design.

Norris is a model father.  He maintains friendships with his adult sons.  Chuck’s brother, Aaron Norris, is a middle-aged director, and the better known brother sometimes allows himself to act in his films.

In 1992, Chuck paid a visit to Moscow to participate (as an arbiter) in a kickboxing match between three-time world champion Richard Hill (USA) and Vadim Ukraintsev, a contender for this title.

In 1996, he opened his own club in Moscow under the name Chuck Norris Enterprise Club Beverly Hills.  This establishment has a cabaret, a casino and a restaurant.  The club is located in the former metropolitan club "Firebird", which he became co-owner in 1995.  In addition to the club in Russia, Chuck has his own casino in Las Vegas.

In 1997, he visited Russia as an honorary guest of the prestigious national tournament in Thai boxing and kickboxing with the participation of the strongest athletes, including two fights for the title of European and world champions among professionals.

Chuck Norris became the creator of a large number of television shows, in addition, he publishes his magazine, wrote 7 books.  Recently I decided to search and “promote” young talents from Russia, not only potential super models, but also movie actresses, pop singers, and leading show programs.  The winners in competitions and in trials will be awarded with a trip to Hollywood and participation in the films of Chuck Norris. Chuck also studied Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  The first dan (higher only sensei) in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the eighth dan (master, only 9 dan) in Taekwondo, the ninth dan in Jit Kun-do (under the direction of Bruce Lee), the tenth dan in Shito-Ryu Karate-do, the tenth  Dan by Tansudo, Eleventh Dan by Chiang Kook Do
