Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Tagawa Hiroyuki) was born September 27, 1950. Libra by zodiac sign and a tiger by the Chinese horoscope. He is an American actor, sports physiologist, martial arts master and stuntman of Japanese descent.

Tagawa Hiroyuki was born in Tokyo, the capital of Japan or the Eastern Capital, the son of a Japanese actress and Japanese-American father who served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Fort Polk, Louisiana and Fort Hood, Texas. He speaks Japanese and English. As a child, his family was constantly changing places until they settled in Southern California in 1955, where he went to high school.

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa studied kendo and karate with his mentor Masatoshi Nakayama. He later attended the University of Southern California and was an exchange student in Japan. After graduation, he decides to become an actor. His film career began in 1985 and in 1986 released a film with his participation, titled The Big Trouble in Little China (Big Trouble in Little China), starring Kurt Russell. Tagawa Hiroyuki in most films played negative characters. Played in the cult movie Mortal Kombat (1995) as the werewolf wizard Shang Tsung.

In November 2015, he and Tymak (The Last Dragon) were the recipients of the Fists of Legends, Legacy Award at the Urban Action Showcase & Expo. In 2013, Tagawa began working with Russians Peter Mamonov and Ivan Okhlobystin. On November 12, 2015, he was baptized at the Russian Orthodox Joy of All Who Sorrow Church in Moscow.
