Scott Adkins

Scott Adkins was born in Sutton Coldfield, UK on June 17, 1976, his English name is Scott Edward Adkins. Scott is an English martial arts actor. Several generations of his family members were butchers. Scott became interested in martial arts at the age of ten when he, his father, and older brother, Craig, attended a local judo club. His interest in martial arts grew even more after Bruce Lee became his idol and at age 14 he started taekwondo. Scott Adkins started kickboxing at age 16, also studied ninjutsu, judo, karate, jujutsu, wushu, krav maga, capoeira, Jit Kung Do, and gymnastics. He enrolled in a drama class at Sutton Coldfield College. Scott was a modest and shy guy for him it was incredibly difficult to perform on stage in front of an audience.

"I knew I wanted to do it, but it scared me like hell." He says.

At the age of 21, he was poor and barely making ends meet, and was forced to leave without completing a course at the prestigious Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts. But his luck ran out and Scott was offered a part in the Hong Kong fighting game "Extreme Challenge" by the head of the Hong Kong Stuntmen's Association, Stephen Tung Fei. That's when he saw the East for the first time with his own eyes.

"I know a lot of fighters go to Hong Kong to try to work in their film production, but unlike them, I never really thought about it seriously. I was dumbfounded that they wanted to work with me there."

Scott got the opportunity to work with the leading faces of Hong Kong filmmaking, including Yun Won Ping, Corey Yuen, Sammo Hung and the legendary Jackie Chan.

Scott is best known for his role as undefeated prison martial arts champion Yuri Boyky in Undisputed 2. In 2009, the film "Ninja," Scott got his first starring role.
